AI_NEWS~ Holiday tunes take over 'American Idol' airplay chart

http://content.usatoday.com/communities/idolchatter/post/2010/11/holiday-tunes-take-over-american-idol-airplay-chart/1

Now that Thanksgiving's done, radio stations across the nation are switching to their holiday formats. As a result, Christmas tracks on the American Idol airplay chart take huge jumps, and acts rarely seen throughout the rest of the year -- Clay Aiken and Kimberley Locke, for instance -- suddenly have prominent spots. Clay's O Holy Night, for instance, more than doubles its spins, rocketing from No. 26 to No. 11 on the Mediabase-powered chart.

Additionally, five Christmas tracks show up on the chart for the first time this season, knocking Danny Gokey, Bo Bice and George Huff out of the top 100.

The top 10 remains the same, though there's some shuffling of the order: Fantasia's I'm Doin' Me goes up a couple spots, Kelly Clarkson's Already Gone drops two.

If you really want to see the impact holiday music has on airplay, look at the cumulative plays for the acts. One month ago, Kimberley and Clay barely were registering any airplay at all; now, they're both among the 10 most-played acts fromAmerican Idol.

David Archuleta nearly doubled his spins from last week to this, and it wasn't Elevator or Something 'Bout Love making the difference, it was Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, currently at No. 17. David Cook, who had more than 2,000 weekly spins just a month ago, has only 1,548 this week.

Carrie Underwood, however, has a healthy catalog of Christmas tunes to go with her hits; between those and Mama's Song, she overtakes Daughtry as this week's most-played Idolact.

In non-holiday action, Lee Dewyze's Sweet Serendipity breaks the top 30 on the Hot AC chart. Crystal Bowersox's Farmer's Daughter fails to make the top 100, but it does get 21 spins, most of them coming from 102.1 FM KPRI in San Diego, Calif. Crystal's scheduled to open for Shawn Mullins and the Doobie Brothers at KPRI's Holiday Soiree Sunday.

AI_NEWS~ Lee DeWyze's first-week sales lower than all winners or runner-ups

http://blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2010/11/american-idol-lee-dewyzes-first-week-sales-lower-than-all-winners-or-runner-ups.html

'American Idol': Lee DeWyze's first-week sales lower than all winners or runner-ups

The numbers are out for "American Idol" Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze's debut album "Live It Up" and they are not good. The album debuted at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 39,000 units, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

And actually, Lee isn't only the lowest-selling winner, but he's lower than any runner-up, beating Diana DeGarmo by 8,000 less albums sold. Now granted, that was in 2004 and this is 2010 -- people don't buy entire albums like they used to. But even just last year, Kris Allen sold 80,000 albums in one week and Glambert sold almost 200,000.

USA Today has compiled all first-week sales figures for each winner and runner-up so that you can compare. We wonder how Crystal Bowersox's "Farmer's Daughter" will do? Her album drops Dec. 14.

Make Money Online Without Scams

Everyone would like to make more money, and these days more and more people are trying to make extra money online. Unfortunately, a lot of the ways to make money online are just scams, pure and simple. But there ARE ways to do it. Not everything is a scam. You can make money online without scams. Building lenses on Squidoo, for instance. A Squidoo lens is a great way to start making money online, and it can be done with no investment. There are programs you can purchase too if you're interested in ramping things up and really getting the money rolling in. My favorite can be found at http://makemoneyonlinewithoutscams.info/. I've used it, and it's legitimate. I've made back way more than what the program initially cost me. In fact, it's one of the only things that's made a significant amount of money for me online. So if you're ready to start making extra money online without getting scammed, just click here or here.
