Ruben Studdard: Latest Victim of Internet Death Hoax
It seems that almost every week another entertainer or Hollywood star is being killed off via the internet.Last week, on Thanksgiving Day, word quickly spread on Twitter and Facebook that the 'American Idol' winner Ruben Studdard had died.
Fans quickly began posting "Rest in Peace" messages to the singer, who won season two of the hit Fox talent competition in 2003.
On Black Friday, Nov. 26, Studdard took to his Twitter page to assure fans he had not passed.
"And I'm alive yall," he posted via @RubenStuddard. "I hate stupid rumors."
Despite the NAACP Image Award-winning artist announcing he was alive and though he has continued to post messages since then, BlackVoices.com has still received emails and messages inquiring about Studdard's "death."
For the last time: Ruben Studdard is ALIVE!
Studdard recently performed with Natalie Cole during the 'David Foster & Friends Tour' at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The singer's last CD, 'Love Is,' was released in May of 2009.
