From Entertainment Weekly:
For the first time since Season 5, 19R will release a CD of Idol recordings from the current crop of Idols. Season 6 and 7 featured downloads of studio recordings of the Idol's weekly live performances. The first 5 seasons had the Top 10/12 Idols record one song each for a compilation released at the end of the season. (This season's disc features only the Top 10)
The album will be available through Wal-mart, and will be available June 30.
Season 8 offered fans Idol performance downloads which were recently made unavailable. You can only download both the Kris Allen and Adam Lambert versions of "No Boundaries" now. I can't see purchasing the CD if you've already got the downloads, but I suppose it gives peeps who missed the cutoff a chance to purchase recordings from their Season 8 favorites.
Adam Lambert and Kris Allen both have 2 cuts to make way for their versions of the drecky "No Boundaries"
Not sure why they'd choose "She Works Hard for the Money" for Kris Allen. It was a great performance, but "Heartless", "Falling Slowly", and "To Make You Feel My Love" were all better
I don't have quibble with the rest of the picks. What do you think?
1. Kris Allen, "No Boundaries"
2. Danny Gokey, "Stand By Me"
3. Allison Iraheta, "I Can't Make You Love Me"
4. Matt Giraud, "Human Nature"
5. Adam Lambert, "Mad World"
6. Kris Allen, "She Works Hard for the Money"
7. Lil Rounds, "I Surrender"
8. Scott MacIntyre, "Just The Way You Are"
9. Michael Sarver, "You Are Not Alone"
10. Megan Corkrey, "Walkin' After Midnight"
11. Anoop Desai, "Always On My Mind"
12. Adam Lambert, "No Boundaries"
